FUN WITH WORDS

Alright, the book has finished and I am supposed to write a review, which actually it is not. Not because I hate it but because (a) I actually don't know how to write reviews (b) I am an amateur reader and I certainly don't deserve to review Chetan Bhagat's creativity and (c) I am not even in a mood to review anything. I am in a mood  to have some fun with alphabets and trying them jumble to make it sensible word which can be further arranged randomly to make understandable sentences without grammatical errors. So here the ' fun with words begins'.........

             Let's talk about the book Five point someone. It is about IIT. It is about different prof's. It is about three friends. It is about the happening's and mishap's  in their life at IIT hostel. It is about a girl and what not.

             Well, I don't know how to rate the book for this is the second book I have read in these 24 years of my life. But, all I can say is, it is as good as my first one was.

              The story revolves around three different guy's who become friends on their first meet during their ragging at IIT hostel. Ryan, Alok & Hari are thr three hero's of the book. Ryan- the stud is more like a hero from Bollywood, nice built, tall, smart, creative doesn't like to mug notes, hates the system & wears branded clothes as his parents earn dollars abroad. He has spent all his life so far in hostel's, first in a boarding & now in IIT, always deprived of parent's love. 

              Alok-Mr. fatty, always ready to eat, very emotional, not rich at all, has a big family problem, want's to help his family by getting a good job hence, loves to mug notes. Hari- the one who actually writes the book is similar to Alok fat & round, he is actually in between the two. Always confused, loves to enjoy at the same time doesn't want to compromise on grades.  Both Alok & Hari have one thing in common- they never like Ryan's idea's at the first go & keep sayin 'No' untill they eventually agree to go for that.

              The story is quite interesting, how these three guys meet, how the stud saves them from ragging and how then they become god friends who always study together, enjoy together on the insti roof where nobody ever comes. How they use different tactics to balance their life i,e. to study as well as to enjoy. How they mess up their grades in course of these tactics. like every great story has a romantic touch this one too has that spice named- Neha, Hari's girl. She is the daughter of one of the prof's at IIT who also used to be a head of the Dept. of Hari's batch. To love the daughter of your prof. as well as HOD you need guts. And for a man          like Hari who shivers and goes dumb at the vivas even while knowing the correct answers, it is actually more than guts. How he actually manages all that is quite interesting. Love is blind, as they say and one can do anything to get one's love. This principle applies here too. 

              How the three friends planned to steal the examination paper from prof's room who is Neha' father and the HOD and how they are caught red handed was interesting. when you are caught lke that, believe it or not, you are in trouble as these guys are. The prof's immediately call the Disciplinary Committee to decide their fate. the Disco's decision is enough for Alok to attempt suicide. When you jump from nine stories and only get 13 fractures, you should consider yourself lucky. For Alok Gupta his condition is now very similar to his dad who was lying on the bed for years because of bad health. At this point of time, all the three hero's loose hopes. 

               They already have low grades, they are caught stealing papers red handed, they loose a semester which means no recruitment for them for a year. But, as Hindi movies twist right on its head here too there is a twist. Prof Veera, the one who is more friendly to our heros is able to win a project for their lost semester and if it is successful there is a chance that they also get their grades for the lost sem. But, everything is not easy and miracles won't happen easily. It takes another twist when neha's father saw Hari and Neha together and comes to know about the truth behind the death of his son ( Neha's brother) the rock strong man breaks into tears.

               From here on the story almost reaches its end. To know more about that interesting end read this amazing book.........................................
